A.4 The structure of the stud hi lo tournaments is terrible. Stating they have 5 % skill is giving skill in this type of tournamenr the best of it. Structures should go up far slower.
Q.5 I heared that during the site games at the WSOP the games are full of cheaters. Is this true?
A.5 In the past when cheaters wanted to cheat they had one main obstacle that was always getting in their way. This was the fact that they might be on someone else's turf. Someone else might be cheating the game they wanted to cheat. There would be problems because the town guys would usually have the management on their side. The fact is they were everyday regulars. Regular players always are treated better than visitors since they are always tipping more money on a consistent basis. No matter what anyone tells you, a regular always has the advantage at home. They even call it home court advantage.
When going to cheat a new game it would take time to work your way in. Four or five new players just couldn't appear out of the blue and start a new game in a casino without waking up the dead . Previously to this, getting a scam into a new game would take at least weeks, if not months. Everyone would be stating ;where did these guys come from?.
Well that problem has been solved by the big tournaments. What used to take long periods of time before is now available to be done whenever the cheating packs care to do it. They have built themselves in as regulars in the tournaments' side games. They only go to the biggest events as this ensures them of getting the action that is needed. GCA goes on record as stating the World Series Of Poker is considered the biggest Smorgasbord or Buffet to the cheats and scammers in the world today.
It has been considered this for around 15 years now, It is always easy for everyone to state we have been waiting for this for a year . Who is the wiser? That is a truth in itself. But, there are also other tournaments in which the same things take place. The same things are said there also. It is done in the four or five major tournaments.
It is a known fact that the lists on most of the side games at the tournaments are always very long. It is also known that the lists don't move very quickly. Most of this is due to the fact that the scammers and cheats are in these games. They try to put in as many hours as possible as the scamming is the easiest here.
The WSOP side games have always been know as the king of the smorgasbord to the scammers. Cheat or eat for as long as you can. Make as much as you can and thentake a month's rest. After all, there are really only about four or five times a year you can do this. And the WSOP side games are the best smorgasbord in the business.
People wait all year for this event. Everyone states the same thing. We have all been waiting and I have come because I haven't played any poker for a long time now. I want to get as much poker in as I can. This is all fine and dandy. It also makes it very easy for the scammers and cheats. No questions and no problems. Also all the fresh money from the people coming to expect an honest event.
Nothing is further from the truth. Just remember one thing. If you rob a bank with a $1000 or rob a bank with a $1,000,000. It is all the same as far as any punishment that you may incur. The prize is a far different thing. And there is no security to speak of.
The best cheats and scammers come from all over the country for this. They cheat until there is no money left and then tell you the games are now bad. The truth is the games were always bad. A bunch of raising can be an illusion. They have a license to steal and use it, to take every dollar they can in the games they are used to playing in.
This is also one of the main reasons they don't start new games so often when they have lists as long as your arm. The scammers don't want the live ones to get a better choice. I have played in the side games in Vegas during the WSOP in the last ten years on occasions, and it is the same scammers that have been there for years. In fact, I have always come with a cheating pack myself.
However, there is more common knowledge about me than some of the newer scammers. It just wasn't worth the trouble to work my way into the tournament scamming when I was already built into LA. This was bad for business in itself. It just doesn't look good when the same game I am consistently playing in is suddenly in Vegas. When these scamming groups were in LA for several of the major tournaments they would try to play in the games I was scamming. Here they were in for some bad news, however. Here I was built in. Everyone was used to seeing me and several others of my packs. I had backed off in Vegas because it was hard for me to get more than two or three of us in the game at the same time. However, in LA it was no problem.
I was always in the games at least 4 or 5 handed. I also would use my influence with management in the casinos from starting new games. Payback can be a bitch. Several of the scamming groups were unaware I had these games and thought they could just move in. Certain games would go for almost two days without anyone leaving. It would be four against four, without anyone leaving the seat. Each wanting to get control of the game. In LA the edge was mine. In other places it was not the same. Here they left with their tails between their legs.
Now I am not familiar with the small action, as in the $50-$100 or smaller. But you be assured it is being done there also. As I have stated, scamming packs without marked cards don't win all the money. They just get their share. Others can win in the games and do.
However, it is just a matter of time until this situation catches up to you. Every time you see someone that used to play poker start writing, it is a sign things are not going all that well for them. For there is nothing easier than butchering a big game with a bunch of good or World Class Scammers . So the idea of writing, for the peanuts involved, would be the furthest thing from your mind if you were winning in the poker games. You would also prefer to keep you picture out of the paper.
Most of the cheats I know are millionaires. They are very well off. Most have used discipline over the years and don't get caught up as much in the action anymore. After all, most have done this all their lives and now prefer to remain out of the picture.But the WSOP side games and tournaments have always been an event the scammers and cheaters look forward to. Fresh fish from all over the world. And they catch as much as they possibly can.
